Gray, Gray & Gray Opens the 2023 Energy and Propane Industry Survey

In April 2023, Gray, Gray & Gray opened their 2023 annual Energy Industry Survey and called for participants. The survey is for oil, Bioheat® fuel and propane retailers and will provide key benchmarking data for the industry.

This is the firm’s 32nd year of conducting its industry-leading survey of the nation’s energy marketers, and the 7th year for their focus on national propane marketers. This year’s Energy and Propane Survey will collect data from fuel oil and propane marketers across the country for the heating season spanning April 2022 through March 2023. The online survey became available on April 3, 2023, at: www.gggllp.com/energy-survey-2023. Deadline for submission is June 27. Results will be published in September.

“Gray, Gray & Gray’s annual energy and propane survey is eagerly anticipated for statistics, trends and benchmarking data among fuel oil and propane distributors,” says Marty Kirshner, CPA, MSA, partner who heads up Gray, Gray & Gray’s Energy Practice Group. “Our energy and propane industry survey has consistently delivered the statistics propane and fuel oil companies need to measure their own performance and progress in comparison to their peers.”

Kirshner adds that Gray, Gray & Gray has streamlined this year’s survey based on feedback received to make it simpler and faster for companies to complete, while still providing key data points. Participants will notice an increased focus on workforce development and key business concerns such as electrification, reflecting some of the most important issues faced by energy retailers during the survey period.

For 2023, Gray, Gray & Gray is partnering with Angus Energy, a respected energy services firm, who will provide statistics and data to supplement survey responses, and with the Propane Education & Research Council (PERC), a nonprofit that provides leading propane safety and training programs.
