The Time Has Come!

HEAT Show 2025 is now! If you have not made your plans to get to the Encore Boston Harbor Hotel, August 20-22, there is no time to waste. You will want to clear your calendar for the full three days, because there is something exciting every day.
The HEAT Show will offer valuable and engaging presentations, an active trade show floor, celebrity appearances, educational and training sessions, the Legends Gala Dinner, and so much more! There is even a “bonus” event on Tuesday, August 19, at Fenway Park!
Spotlight Sessions and Keynote Address
The daily “Spotlight Sessions” will feature discussions of the topics that will be addressed in further detail during the Industry Summit. These are issues that are vital to the continuation of the liquid fuels industry in both the near- and long-term.
Keynote Address: The HEAT Show will open on Wednesday, August 20, with a Keynote Address from U.S. Representative Claudia Tenney (R-NY24). The Congresswoman will provide invaluable insight to our industry’s most pressing issues and the new political landscape in Washington. Representative Tenney is a rising star in national politics, a member of the influential House Ways & Means Committee, and a staunch advocate for LIHEAP, renewable liquid heating fuels, and energy choice.
Summit Spotlight: Energy Choice and Affordability Panel: Immediately following Congresswoman Tenney’s keynote, the first “Summit Spotlight” will feature a panel discussion on energy choice and affordability. This session will examine key federal and state policy initiatives aimed at preserving consumer access to diverse energy options. This panel offers a valuable opportunity to hear directly from policy experts and national advocates and to gain critical insights into the issues that will influence the future of your business and the communities you serve.
NEFI has worked in close coordination with these individuals and their organizations to advance shared priorities, including robust advocacy to protect and fully fund the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP):
- Brian Caudill, Managing Director, Governmental Affairs and Public Policy, American Gas Association
- Liam Dotson, Manager of Government Affairs, National Energy and Fuels Institute
- Renee Lani, General Counsel, American Public Gas Association
- Lauren Medlin, Manager, Federal Legislative Affairs, National Propane Gas Association
- Mark Valentini, Vice President of Legislative Affairs, Plumbing Heating Cooling Contractors Association
- Bob Wolfer, Manager, Government Relations, Bradford White
Summit Spotlight Lunch: State Clean Heat Standard Update: Luncheon on Wednesday will include a presentation from Michael Ferrante, President of Massachusetts Energy Marketers Association, and Joe Uglietto, President, Diversified Energy Specialists, on the Massachusetts Clean Heat Standard regulation. Should the Standard be released, it will reduce the use of all fossil fuels for space heating statewide, but could also present an opportunity for heating oil retailers to comply by providing renewable liquid biofuels to their customers.
Summit Spotlight: The Bioheat® Fuel Movement: A Call to Lead, Unite, and Deliver on the Promise of Clean Energy: Thursday’s conference opens with a Summit Spotlight session from Paul Nazzaro, President of Advanced Fuel Solutions and long-time liaison to the Clean Fuels Alliance of America. As heating oil dealers, wholesalers, and supply chain partners face mounting regulatory and market pressures, this session will cut through the noise and cast a clear vision: Bioheat® fuel is not just a cleaner alternative, it’s a rallying point for our industry’s future. Paul will challenge stakeholders to step up, collaborate, and claim their role in reshaping energy delivery in the Northeast and beyond.

Legends Gala and Jack Sullivan Award
One of the highlights of every HEAT Show or Visions Conference is the annual black tie/formal Legends Award Gala. This year, NEFI will also bestow its inaugural Jack Sullivan Award. In addition to the formal awards ceremony, there will be an open bar cocktail reception, multi-course dinner and more. The event’s emcee will once again be past Legends Award recipient Jim Townsend of Townsend
Energy.
The Legends Award recognizes individuals in the Fuel Retailers; Fuel Producer / Wholesalers / Supplier; Equipment Producer / Wholesalers / Supplier; and Associate categories who have made a lasting contribution to the success of our industry through their leadership, commitment, and dedication. This year’s Legends honorees are Peter Aziz, President & CEO, Valiant Energy Solutions; Kevin Beckett, President & CEO, R.W. Beckett Corporation; Dr. Thomas A. Butcher, Director of NORA Laboratory; Rich Goldberg, President, Warm Thoughts Communications; and Eric Slifka, President & CEO, Global Companies, LLC.
This year, NEFI proudly announced the establishment of its newest prestigious honor: The Jack Sullivan Award for Fuel Industry Excellence. Charlie Uglietto, owner of Cubby Oil & Energy, is the inaugural recipient of the Jack Sullivan Award for Fuel Industry Excellence. This award gives special recognition to a member who demonstrates exceptional advocacy and dedication to advancing the fuel industry. Named in tribute to John Francis “Jack” Sullivan II, NEFI’s transformative Executive Vice President and CEO from 1995 to 2007, this award celebrates his enduring impact on our industry. Jack was renowned for his passionate advocacy of our mostly multigenerational family businesses, his compelling testimony before state and federal legislatures, and his instrumental role in establishing the National Oilheat Research Alliance (NORA) in 2000.
But Wait, There’s More!
The HEAT Show planning committee has made sure to bring the fun and bring the glam to this year’s event.
On Tuesday, before the trade show starts, you can join NEFI for a Backyard BBQ at Fenway Park and watch the Baltimore Orioles line up against the Boston Red Sox, on a private terrace. You will enjoy a spectacular view of all the on-field action and the iconic Green Monster while networking in a relaxed, one-of-a-kind setting. All attendees will enjoy a private open bar and a menu full of special items that cannot be found anywhere in the ballpark.
Keep the baseball energy flowing through to Thursday morning, when World Series Champion Jonny Gomes visits the trade show! Say hello, take a picture, or get an autograph as Gomes comes to NEFI. Gomes is a former MLB outfielder who played for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, Cincinnati Reds, Washington Nationals, Oakland Athletics, Boston Red Sox, Atlanta Braves, and Kansas City Royals over his 13-year career. He was part of the Red Sox and Royals’ teams when they won their respective World Series. Gomes now travels the globe with Major League Baseball as part of their MLB Homerun Derby X and has also appeared in the widely popular Savannah Bananas baseball games.
