NEFI Introduces the National Home Comfort PAC

Ensuring Access to Reliable Home Comfort for Every American
The National Energy & Fuels Institute (NEFI) is proud to announce the launch of its newly renamed federal political action committee, the national Home Comfort PAC.
The federal PAC represents America’s heating fuel and home comfort providers – the multi-generational family businesses that ensure millions of American homes have access to reliable, safe, and affordable home heating solutions. These businesses provide vital products and services, support local economies, and sustain countless rewarding careers in the trades. Many are at the forefront of innovation, developing and deploying
renewable heating fuels and high-efficiency equipment that meet tomorrow’s energy challenges while preserving consumer choice today.
Mission of the Home Comfort PAC
The PAC supports candidates for national office who recognize the importance of consumer choice, understand the vital role of local heating fuel dealers and comfort providers in ensuring access to affordable and sustainable energy solutions, and support policies that allow these mostly small, family-owned businesses to thrive while serving their communities. It provides owners, executives, and managers at NEFI member companies with an opportunity to contribute to their future through active participation in the political process.
Bipartisan Support for Our Industry
The Home Comfort PAC is strictly non-partisan. It supports candidates based on their understanding of our industry’s needs and the important role their products and services play in the daily lives of their constituents. By way of example of the kinds of candidates the PAC supports, here are the first two that received support this election cycle:
U.S. Rep. Nick Langworthy (R-NY)
Congressman Langworthy represents New York’s 23rd District and serves on the House Energy and Commerce Committee. Rep. Langworthy is well known as the lead sponsor of the Energy Choice Act, national consumer choice legislation that would prohibit state and local governments from banning any form of home energy. This includes home heating oil, propane, natural gas, electricity, or any type of renewable heating fuel such as Bioheat® Fuel or renewable propane. His background in small business and commitment to ensuring access to affordable American energy make him a natural advocate for our mostly family-owned businesses. Learn more at nicklangworthy.com.
U.S. Rep. Jared Golden (D-ME)
Congressman Golden represents Maine’s 2nd District and serves on the Small Business Committee. A member of both the Blue Dog Coalition and the Problem Solvers Caucus, Rep. Golden is committed to finding bipartisan solutions and advancing pragmatic policies. Last year, he signed the Maine Energy Marketers Association’s pledge to preserve consumer choice and has been a vocal supporter of policies that enhance energy reliability and affordability while reducing regulatory burdens for Main Street businesses. Golden is a Marine Corps veteran, having served in a combat role in both Afghanistan and Iraq. Learn more at jaredgoldenforcongress.com.
How Does the PAC Decide Who to Support?
Decisions on which candidates to support are made by Home Comfort PAC leadership in consultation with its advisory board members and are based on the candidate’s alignment with our policy goals and understanding of the role our members play in their communities. The PAC is funded solely by the voluntary personal contributions of NEFI members. 100% of contributions - every dollar received - is used to support qualified candidates for national office. The PAC is managed by NEFI and is not connected to any other trade association or political action committee.
