Burner manufacturers continue to expand B100 capabilities and app functionality
We may be in the midst of one of the hottest summers in history, but that just means that we are getting closer to the start of the 2026-2027 heating season. It is also the time when manufacturers announce their latest advancements in their equipment. While integrated apps for burners have been around for several years, both Beckett and Carlin have upgraded their platforms to provide troubleshooting, history, and set-up data so detailed that they do virtually everything except turn a screwdriver. The enhanced apps are designed to make the technician’s job easier, which will allow them to complete repairs more quickly, finish more projects per day, and keep customers happier.
The world of B100 UL-listed equipment is also expanding, as Riello announces its B100 burners, and Beckett expands the TigerLoop line with the first UL listed deaerators and hoses.
Beckett: Enhanced “MyTechnician” App, B100 Tigerloop Black Deaerators
R.W. Beckett has committed to delivering two major updates to its MyTechnician app each year, so as to continually improve the user experience.
The most recent enhancements to the platform include expanded diagnostic capabilities, improved component failure identification, and more comprehensive device reporting. Similar functionality is being incorporated into the company’s upcoming GeniSys 7595 gas control and RG4 gas burner platform.
With MyTechnician, the value of a burner system extends beyond combustion performance alone. Information generated by controls and connected devices can provide insights into equipment operation, service history, fault conditions, and maintenance needs. For contractors, OEMs, and equipment owners, this information can support faster troubleshooting and more informed decision-making.
The addition of Wayne Combustion to the Beckett family has also expanded the organization’s experience across multiple combustion platforms and applications. As the industry continues to adopt more advanced controls, connectivity, and diagnostics, R. W. Beckett is increasingly focused on how data and intelligence can complement traditional combustion expertise to improve system performance and serviceability.
For example, the updated platform provides “History Fault Hints.” This is a two-fold intuitive troubleshooting feature. First, the system has recorded the history of the equipment faults as well as the last troubleshooting step the user/technician had touched. Then, utilizing data from all systems that have recorded that fault, the app will recommend the most popular, successful next step.
The new Tigerloop® “Black” Bio Deaerator is the first deaerator engineered “from the ground up” for B100. The industry-first epoxy lined deaerator is UL Listed for up to B100 and can be purchased on its own as the stand-alone Tigerloop deaerator, or the Tigerloop Ultra-B as a Combination unit which includes both the Tigerloop Deaerator and spin-on oil filter. Beckett is also offering a complete line of B100 UL listed hoses to complement the Tigerloop Bio series. A Beckett representative adds, “The Black is the first deaerator to be recognized for 100 percent biodiesel. Our traditional deaerators are compatible with B100, but are not listed. Black will be listed.”
Also new for Beckett is their new training facility in Sturbridge, Massachusetts, opening July 21. Situated in the same campus as their current facility, the new facility will have two stories, with larger classrooms and a larger live-fire equipment area that will enable training of not only oil but also propane fired units, and will include forced air furnaces as well as boilers.
Carlin Updates Carlin Connect App
Carlin Connect is a Bluetooth® app and companion module for the Pro‑X 70200 Diagnostic Primary Control that gives technicians wireless access to real-time burner information, programming, troubleshooting, and support resources.
New features include detailed burner cycle logs; “last fault” description and troubleshooting tips; product resources such as one touch dial to tech support, OEM setup tables, product installation literature, training videos, and more!
Carlin Connect builds on the Pro-X 70200’s diagnostic capabilities with:
- Detailed fault history logs that create a clear record of past issues, making recurring problems and root causes easier to identify during service calls.
- Detailed burner cycle logs complement this by showing how the burner has been running over time so technicians can verify performance and spot abnormal operation patterns instead of relying solely on snapshots in time.
- A dedicated cycle history dashboard centralizes run time, burn time, electrical readings, and line voltage data to give a complete view of each cycle in one place.
- Users can program (adjust the control settings of) the Pro-X 70200 directly from their phone.
A full programming dashboard brings key timing and safety parameters, including:
- Pre-purge
- Trial for ignition
- Post purge
- Cad cell limits
- Ignition type
- Other critical options, into one mobile interface to support accurate, efficient configuration in the field.
For lockouts and faults, the app presents Last Fault Details with descriptions, troubleshooting tips, and next‑step prompts. The Carlin Connect app incorporates a product resources hub:

Riello Releases B100 Burners
In May, Riello announced that the 40-Series of oil-fired burners are now UL listed for up to 100 percent (B100) biofuel as well as for traditional heating fuels.
Riello 40-Series oil-fired burners are compatible with #1 and #2 heating oils, as well as blends up to B100. The 40-series is available in seven models with firing rates from 0.5 to 6.4 gph to handle a complete range of residential and light-commercial/ industrial applications.
